Week Twenty Two.

The beginning of this week was pretty full on for me with work. As we are going away next week, I have picked up a few extra shifts which I definitely now regret but it will be so worth it when I'm sunning myself in California without a care in the world. I cannot wait, literally counting down the minutes - the sun is going to be glorious!

Saturday night was very quiet at work and everyone was getting cut early, so Halie and I decided to make the most of it and go back to her apartment, drink a couple of bottles of red wine, and watch Harry Potter. Of course, we ended up drinking too much wine, neglected Harry Potter and just ended up chatting until the early hours of the morning. I did not feel good the next day that's for sure. My fail safe 'wine is fine' motto did not hold up that night that's for sure.

In the evening we all headed out for tapas at the Block which was great, in case my last post didn't quite explain well enough. If it wasn't quiet as expensive I'd be heading there on the regular, but it was certainly a nice little treat and great to hang out with everyone outside of work.

On Tuesday I took a trip to Calgary with Mary-Ann to do some last minute shopping for Coachella. Yes I am well aware that it was not my best idea to leave it until the day before we leave, but I am a busy woman and shopping is essential even if not in the best timing. We went to the always awesome Chinook Mall and I somehow managed to get everything on my list, AND a couple of bits for Danny without going over my budget! I am getting so good at this grown up, being good with money, sensible human being thing.

But boy did we get caught up in a crappy snow storm on the way home. To be fair we did know it was coming. 37cm to be exact - Danny was devastated. One of the biggest dumps of the season and we were heading out to California, he was not a happy bunny to say the least. It's now 11pm and I'm laying in bed trying to sleep as we are leaving in 4 hours, but of course, sleep is the last thing my body wants to do right now. No. No sleep for Louise. So obviously, I am doing the logical thing of occupying myself until I fall asleep probably an hour before we intend to leave. So for now, goodnight and bon voyage - my next few posts should be more exciting that's for sure... COACHELLA BABY!!!!
