Sunday was skype day as always, and I got to see Libby being a little madam and climbing up on things and generally being cheeky. Girl after my own heart. It was actually quite upsetting to see her laughing and playing with Sophie, and then refusing to speak to me on FaceTime. But then I suppose she is only two, and I'm not there so yeah. Danny then took me out for breakfast at Mel's. For somewhere that has such a good reputation for breakfast, and a queue out the door on weekends, I was a little disappointed. My eggs benny was fine, but my pie was soggy and Danny's omelette was so overdone. It wasn't expensive by any means of the imagination, but still, I hoped for more.
Thankfully Monday rolled around pretty quickly and it was our day off, so we went to do a spot of shopping in Calgary. Obviously I was way more excited about this than Danny, but it's just nice to get out of town for the day. I really had to try and reign in my inner shopaholic, it was a bloody ginormous mall! I set myself a budget and I stuck to it and came away with everything I needed. A dress and heels for coachella, some white jeans, new underwear and a couple of other treats. Happy Louise. I really do miss having nice clothes and dressing to look good rather than to be practical and keep warm. Vain I know. We had a delicious Thai lunch from a tiny little stall with a ridiculously large queue so we knew it must me good. And it was. So so yummy, if a little bit too spicy for my tastebuds. I'm getting better though I promise.
Tuesday Danny went riding and I chilled out at home, caught up on the washing and cleaning, watched some TV, had a bit of a pamper and some me time which is a pretty rare occurrence. It was Cheap Tuesday at the movies so we decided to go and check out Insurgent. For $13 you get your 3D ticket, popcorn and a drink - so much cheaper than back home! Also may I add, butter popcorn is the strangest thing, I'm not sure I'll ever like any popcorn that's not covered in sugar. My sweet tooth needs it's fix. We then headed home and I jumped into my role as domestic goddess and made the most yummy dinner. I'm pretty tight on time most days and cooking is not at the top of the list, so it's really nice when we have a decent home cooked meal. I served up teriyaki marinated pork tenderloin with chipotle BBQ sauce, served with sweet potato & carrot mash and broccoli. All washed down with a glass of wine, obviously. Oh God it was yummy, just sitting here typing about it makes me want to eat it all over again.
And as for today, I headed back to work. For the most pointless 45 minute shift. Town is so dead it is ridiculous, fingers crossed Easter means weekend madness otherwise I am not going to be making much money this week. But whilst I was busy doing nothing, Danny, Will and Georgie went cross country skiing at Lake Louise. From what I've been told it was a lot of fun but very hard work. I think I would have spent a lot of time on my butt judging by some of the pictures I've seen. We're trying to squeeze all these winter activities in before the snow disappears completely. I think snow mobiling is well and truly off the cards, but there's still a few more things we need to tick off before the sun really sets in. Fingers crossed for the dumping of snow predicted for this weekend.
I can hear everyone upstairs getting ready to leave so I best leave it there. Obviously I was cut early from work again this evening as it is still ridiculously quiet so we are heading out for a few drinks at the Gap and to watch Ella and Luke's friend's skateboard video which should be fun. We shall see if I still think it's fun in the morning. The drinks there are lethal...
