Week Twenty One

Where do I begin to sum up this last week? There's been some ups and downs that's for sure. Danny and I have been having so many conversations about the future and what our plans are, whether we are going to stay in Canada, or move on to somewhere else. When am I going to go home, what are my plans for a career. So many questions that I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. And then we find out that visa applications were coming up again and all the stress begins. Normally I'm a pretty calm and collected person, I like to think (Lee you may disagree) but visas stress me out like you won't believe. Danny, Will and George all got their visas and unfortunately I have been wait listed. There are so many more things that we need to get out of Canada before we leave so keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that it all works out.

It was Easter at the weekend, another holiday away from home that was a bit strange. No roast dinner at the Piper with my crazy family, and no Easter Eggs to scoff down as quickly as possible, but I got to skype them all at Nan's house and I got to see Libby trying to fit five mini chocolate eggs in her mouth without my Mum noticing so that was fun. Easter eggs don't seem to be particularly easy to source out here so I decided to make Danny and I a cadburys creme egg cheesecake as our Easter treat. Boy is good. Oh it is so so good, if ridiculously sickly. But yum. I really do need to bake more.

Danny, Will, Mark (the sous chef at work) and I all headed up to the HI hostel for another of Greg's comedy nights on Monday. The last one was so good so we had no hesitations getting tickets this time round, and boy am I glad we did. It was so funny! The headliner Andrew Albert was absolutely hilarious. I sat there most of the time being really concerned he was going to pick on me, as he was pretty interactive with the audience, but luckily I was avoided and just enjoyed the laughs. I'm so glad that this is becoming a monthly event, it's nice to do something different in Banff and not just go skiing and out for dinner which is pretty much the sum total of my life right now. So yeah, any Banffites reading this, keep an eye out for posters around town for the next event, it's going to be a hoot!

And yesterday we went tubing! Yay! We are finally making our way through our winter activities checklist. We had a huge dumping of snow over the weekend, 47cm at Sunshine Village so everything is going to be staying over a bit longer than anticipated which is fantastic. A lovely little group of us headed up to Norquay with mid morning with our Banff Ambassador passes (best things ever!) for a fun couple of hours of FREE tubing! I was a bit apprehensive as it looked pretty damn fast from the sidelines but oh my goodness it was so much fun. I haven't laughed that much in a while (Greg's comedy night excluded obviously). You could go on your own, or in groups and be sent down straight or spinning. I went in a group each time because I'm like a child and don't like doing anything on my own, but it's fun to have a laugh with someone else. Ah it was awesome, and I would 100% pay to do it again. Loved it! Bring on the summer for some more new fun activities, I cannot wait!
