This week has been pretty chilled for myself which was much needed after four days of skiing and trying to keep up with the boys. God am I tired! I mean don't get me wrong I love getting some time off from work to ski and explore but I just cannot cope with the early starts and late finishes, I am growing old before my time. Not cool.
I worked my double shifts as usual until Saturday and headed off for a farewell breakfast with Danny, Will, Tom and Rich at Touloulous. God was it good. It was so good. Danny and I shared eggs benny (my ultimate fave brekkie) and french toast with berries and cream and of course maple syrup. I went to work feeling super sick but oh so satisfied. It was so good to have Sunday day off to have a lie in and skype my Mum. I feel like I haven't spoken to any of my family in so long, it was so good just to see their faces. Of course Libby had next to no interest in speaking to me, and just wanted to chat to Danny but hey ho it was awesome just to see her running around and playing with her toys and singing frozen. She is such a confident, crazy little girl and I miss her ridiculous amounts. Thank God for skype that's all I can say!
Danny and I somehow managed to get both Monday and Tuesday off this week which was super good. It's so nice to spend some time together outside of work, and we were actually good and did not go out for dinner at all. We did a HUGE food shop, that looks like we are stocking up for the apocalypse and consequently actually cooked an awesome AND healthy meal. Lemon chicken with long stemmed broccoli, spinach and cashew nuts and noodles; and for dessert the always incredible apple and berry crumble with ice cream which I'm pretty sure is going to feed us for the remainder of the week. A big high five to us.
We went for a bit of skiing on Monday afternoon at Sunshine which was nice and chilled. The conditions aren't great at the moment as it's really warm, but it's just so good to ski and be able to feel your toes. I loved it. And on Tuesday I finally had another snowboarding lesson! AND I actually did ok. Yay me! I mean of course I fell over several times, but my confidence is definitely growing and my turns are definitely improving. I just need to make sure I go up twice a week from now on, and maybe I will be relatively competent by the end of the season. Fingers crossed. Of course I've got my eyes on a board already. We all know how much I love shopping, so that is as good a motivation as any.
As for today I was back to work. Wednesdays are usually pretty quiet so I had a nice chilled day with Sarah, drinking tea, and serving a few tables. I was cut super early so I met up with a few friends after their curling lesson (super jealous by the way) and we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory for something to eat. It's a pretty weird place to say the least. It reminded me of a really old school English family pub, kind of like Charlie Chalks. But it was cheap and they did nice mojitos so I was okay with that. But for now it is time to go to sleep, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a pretty crazy week so I definitely need to get some shut eye. Ta ta for now.
